A place for real pit BBQ and real hospitality.

Phil and Jenn Tolliver opened Smokehouse 52 BBQ in downtown Chelsea, MI in February of 2013, with plans to open another location in 2017, the second Smokehouse 52 BBQ will be in Saline, MI. But Phil’s passion for BBQ has been lifelong. Phil will tell you that he has had “a passion for BBQ as long as I can remember.”

Phil’s hope is that our guests will enjoy the experience and the story behind our BBQ. He hopes our guests will smell our smokers, slowly burning for 18 hours, loaded with pork shoulders and beef briskets and know that every day we load our smokers, hand pull the meats, and serve up the best BBQ we know how to prepare.
